🔑 3. Explanation of Permissions

To provide its automated auto-fill functionality, Jira Helper requires the following specific Chrome extension permissions:

• Host Permissions (*://*.atlassian.net/*): Required strictly to interact with the DOM of your Jira Zephyr Scale test cases. This allows the extension to automatically type your test steps into the inputs and trigger "Add Step" events on your behalf.
• activeTab & webNavigation: Used to detect when you are actively on a Zephyr Scale page and to gracefully handle page refreshes or iframe loading.
• sidePanel: Allows the extension to open its user interface in a convenient, persistent side panel while you work in Jira.
• storage: Used exclusively to save your local extension preferences (like custom input delays). This data is stored locally in your browser and is never synced to external servers.

Because the extension operates solely on the client side, the security of your test data is governed by your own browser and machine security. It leverages your existing Jira authentication session and cannot bypass any Atlassian security protocols.
